GRIEF / LOSS RESOLUTION

Death is one cause for grieving, but many other forms of loss can initiate grief. Loss of a valuable relationship, loss of a job, loss of functioning due to a disability, and loss of a meaningful object are other examples that cause grief. Each of these losses can affect your physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life.

But you can change... our professional staff has the expertise to help you deal with these issues and bring well-being and meaning to your life.

Joy Miller & Associates’ Healthy Tips:

  • Accept your emotions.
  • Realize that loss brings feelings of pain and these feelings may come and go like a roller coaster
  • Express your feelings to a good friend, write in a private journal or see a licensed therapist for grief counseling.
  • Grieving takes time… so honor your feelings by giving yourself time to grief.
  • Everyone’s grief process is different, so honor your own journey and don’t compare your grief to someone else’s journey.
  • Counseling is not a sign of weakness, but a demonstration of your determination to help yourself through this loss
  • You CAN begin the healing process!
